Dr. Maryam Muayad is a dedicated and experienced physician with over a decade of diverse experience in clinical medicine, urgent care, oncology, and research. She brings a global perspective and a strong commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care.
Dr. Muayad earned her M.B.Ch.B. from the University of Mosul and is ECFMG certified, having successfully completed all steps of the USMLE. She completed Hematology and Medical Oncology training at the Oncology Teaching Hospital in Baghdad Medical City—the largest healthcare institution in Iraq—where she managed complex cancer cases through all stages of care. In Missouri, she worked as an Associate Physician at Columbia Urgent Care, leading patient care and mentoring new physicians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her experience across urgent and primary care settings fostered a strong interest in Family Medicine, where she values continuity of care, holistic treatment, and long-term patient relationships.
Dr. Muayad also contributed to gene therapy research as a Research Associate at the One Health One Medicine Research Center, a joint initiative of the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital and the University of Missouri–Columbia. Her work included co-authoring a peer-reviewed publication and hands-on molecular research.
Fluent in English and Arabic, she is passionate about patient advocacy, community health, and lifelong learning. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, baking, and spending time with her family.
